We are thrilled to be working with Neu Oil to bring you their unique essential oils developed especially for baby and mum.

The healing power of touch.

Massaging oils into the skin improves absorption and awakens the bodies natural healing abilities and we have found it to be the most enjoyable and effective way to awaken the benefits of aromatherapy. From personal experience we feel massaging our little ones regularly helps strengthens bonds and encourage the happy, healthy development.

Neu Baby blends are safe to use for massaging babies and children from three months old. Here are some helpful tips that we have found useful when massaging our own children:

Before you begin choose a time when your baby is awake and alert, not too hungry or too full.  Use a safe and comfortable place to do the massage and position your baby so that they can see your face clearly. Wash your hands and gather everything you need, ensure the room is warm and lighting not too bright. Take time to breathe a few full breaths - this can help you both relax - and remember to always be gentle and follow your own baby’s cues.

MASSAGING FEET

WITH: BABY PROTECT

1. Start by gently pressing, kneading or squeezing the foot.

2. Take time to work the oil into the soles of the feet by using a ‘thumb over thumb’ action from heel to toe.

3. Massage the top of the foot towards the ankle, making small circles around the ankle.

4. Finally on the bottom of each foot, “walk” your thumb up from the base of the heel to each toe.

MASSAGING WRISTS

WITH: BABY SETTLE

1. Using the roller ball, apply oil directly to the inside of each wrist and massage with fingertips in small circular motion.

2. Take time to apply gentle pressure to the area to warm the skin and encourage absorption.

MASSAGING THE CHEST

WITH: BABY SETTLE,  PROTECT

1. Using one hand, circle over your babies chest in a clockwise motion. Then using two hands, massage in a heart shaped motion over the chest to help stimulate the lymphatic system and clear congestion.

2. Starting at the base of the chest, use both hands to massage up over the chest and down each arm to encourage drainage of the lymphatic system.

3. Pitta patters - Use your fingertips to gently tap all over your babies chest, this will really help to loosen any mucus.

MASSAGING THE BACK

WITH: BABY SETTLE, PROTECT

1. Hand over hand stroke gently down your baby’s back, then using finger tips ‘pitter patter rain drops’ over the whole of the rib cage.

2. Using your fingertips, trace tiny circles on either side of the spine from the neck down and back up.
